"i-sec"

I still remember the first days I joined AIESEC. It was way back in 2002 in the month of October. It was not long after I started my University. My home was far away from the University and I decided to share a room with one of my batch mates. In the weekends we usually travel home together because he come from the same city, where I was. One weekend he told me that he is not going home for the weekend because he has to attend a conference. He said he is going for an “i-sec” conference. I was curious of knowing what “i-sec” was, but he didn’t have a clear idea either. He said “dude, there are lot of chicks and parties, you can have a great time there”. That was his definition of “i-sec”

However, I decided that I also want to attend that conference. When I came back after the conference I was thinking about the things happened there. I practically didn’t understand anything. So I decided that I don’t want to be with “AIESEC” anymore. But after few months have passed I came to realize that I have changed. I repeatedly kept asking this question from my self “what has changed me”. Something suddenly clicked by mind, my heart was beating fast; my mind was looking for an answer. “AIESEC” I smiled and said to my self.

It was the simplest reason why I decided to continue with AIESEC. Since that day I have never come across an organization that creates the deepest of changes in human beings, which is an inspiring place to be, filled with great people, known and respected by leading organizations and individuals as the greatest organization on the planet – an organization that truly creates change.
